confusion

I have just added a couple of new RSS feeds to my google reader - Chrystie Hill and David Lee King. I find what they write interesting but I'm also hoping that they will help me understand all this. I am getting more and more confused.
Should I now be using twitter? Is it more useful than blogging. It has been described as what you do between blogging but I don't get it yet.
Will all this help me reach my clients? I don't know. I completely believe that we need to use these new technologies to get to our younger and/or tech savvy clients but which ones? and how?

I really feel that I need someone to sit down with me and explain it all, how these are used and how I can use them in my working life?
Does anyone else feel the same way?

Twitter certainly seems popular with some people - Chrystie has 189 people who essentially follow the text messages she sends to her Twitter feed. I am not yet convinced that Twitter was ever as popular here in Australia as it is in the US.

They call it micro-blogging because instead of appearing on a website like your blog and turning up in people's RSS feeds a very popular way to read a Twitter feed is on a mobile phone. It wouldn't work for me because I forget to check my phone / charge it etc.

We didn't include Twitter in the course because we wanted everyone to have a chance to explore the basic building blocks of web 2.0. You are doing just fine but we are always happy to talk over coffee!

If you want to "follow" me on twitter, just to see how I use it, without it going to a mobile phone, you can go to this page:

http://twitter.com/itgirl

You can visit this page to see my updates (similar to a blog). You can also follow my "tweets" in your RSS feed-reader by clicking the RSS link on this page.

Micro-blogging is a "supplement" to blogging for me. It takes a lot less time, but still allows me to keep friends and colleagues updated. I still use my blogs, however, to write longer, more contemplative pieces on larger issues - much farther than "what am I doing?"

I hope this helps! And please don't worry about trying every tool; the important thing is just keeping that exploratory spirit of learning alive and well in all that we do, and with whatever tools we try, or use.

Thanks for your following on my blog. I look forward to seeing your comments over there!

Cheers.

I was relating to my mind went blog, and the increasing level of confusion, now I discover something called twitter! Man! This technology world is so huge, and everchanging.
It's great fun though, to have a chance to play around with it all.
